Yarrum Designer Homes has once again been recognised by the Housing Industry Association in 2025, taking home multiple honours that celebrate our team’s creativity, craftsmanship and problem solving across challenging builds.
Our Newcastle home was awarded the HIA Hunter Custom Built Home valued between $800,000 and $1 million, as well as the Hunter Region GreenSmart Sustainable Home Award. These wins are a testament to thoughtful design and efficient building practices that deliver real results for clients.
Winner: Custom Built Home valued between $800,000 and $1 million
Set on a narrow six metre site in inner city Newcastle, this knockdown rebuild proves that a smaller footprint can still make a bold statement. Featuring three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a home office and a sleek kitchen with butler’s pantry, the home is a clever and creative response to a complex site.
While many homes in this category sprawl across large lots, this compact design stood out to the judges for its high quality finish, intelligent use of space and strong architectural response. The result is a home that feels generous, calm and effortlessly connected to its urban surroundings.
Finalist: Custom Built Home valued between $1.5 and $1.75 million
Also recognised in this year’s awards was a two storey custom home in Merewether, named as a finalist in the HIA Hunter Custom Built Home valued between $1.5 and $1.75 million category.
This luxurious knockdown rebuild features soaring voids, refined finishes and an emphasis on accessibility, with thoughtful inclusions such as a lift and level alfresco transitions to future proof the home for its family.
Winner: GreenSmart Sustainable Home Award
Though originally submitted for its design merit, this Newcastle build also received the Hunter Region GreenSmart Sustainable Home Award, acknowledging Yarrum’s broader commitment to sustainability across all projects.
