Our Port Macquarie Display Home: Slab Down and the Build Underway

The build has begun

Construction is underway on our new display home in Port Macquarie, on Hastings River Drive. It's a project the whole team has been looking forward to; our first display home on the Mid-North Coast, and a chance to show what a Yarrum designer home looks like in person.

Here's where things are up to.

Solid foundations first

The slab has been poured. It might not be the most glamorous stage of a build, but it's one of the most important. Consistent groundwork and a properly poured slab give the home a stable, reliable base — and set the standard for everything that follows.

Steady, careful progress at this early stage is how we build every home, not just our display homes.

A first look at the design

The renders show a two-storey coastal home that's been given the kind of thoughtful planning Yarrum brings to every design; practical, personal and built for everyday living, not just impressive on paper.

A few features stand out:

• A layered façade. The design mixes natural timber-look vertical cladding, crisp white vertical board cladding and a charcoal rendered upper form; the sort of considered detail we carry from the external façade right through to joinery details.
• Vertical batten screening. Slatted battens frame the entry and windows, adding privacy and shade while keeping the street presence modern and clean.
• Well-positioned windows. Highlight windows along the rear and full-height glazing draw light deep into the home.
• Outdoor living that flows. The rear opens through wide stacking doors onto a covered, tiled outdoor living space — making the most of Port Macquarie's relaxed climate, where entertaining spaces flow.
• Durable coastal materials. The mix of cladding, render and dark-framed glazing reflects materials suited to the Mid-North Coast.
• A design shaped to its site. Raked rooflines and stepped single, and double-storey forms suit the block orientation and the slope.

What the display home will show

When it opens, the display home will give buyers across Port Macquarie and the Mid-North Coast a real, walk-through look at our approach to custom design; the quality of finish, the use of space, and the considered detail behind Yarrum Designer Homes.

Renders only tell you so much. There's no substitute for standing inside a home and getting a feel for the proportions, the light and the materials. That's exactly what this space is being built to offer, and to show what the highest standard of finishes and inclusions looks like in person.
